シンヤB WordPress で GADWP プラグインを使って Google Analytics の管理をしていた方が、February 12, 2020 の Ver. 6 へのアップグレードで急に使い勝手が悪くなったとSNS で書いているのを見かけたので、Site Kit と CAOS で、私のサイトではとりあえず上手くいってますと書いておこうと思います。
GADWP が Ver. 6 へのアップグレードで、いままでと同じ使い方でも課金されることになったようです。
いろいろなサイトで使っていた方は、年 199ドルとなります。商売でサイトを運営されている方は課金に移行するのも手かなと思います。
Site Kit はグーグル公式のプラグイン
Site Kit は、グーグル公式のプラグインです。複雑な使い方が必要なければ GADWP の代わりにはなのではないかと思います。以下、WordPress 公式に書いてある説明、日本語の訳も書いてみました。

ワンストップソリューションと書いてありますが、一応念のために書いておくと、Google アカウントの作成、Google アナリティクスでプロパティを作成、トラッキング ID の所得は事前にすませておく必要があります。
CAOS は、Complete Analytics Optimization Suite (完全なアナリティクス最適化スィート)の略
ちなみに CAOS ですが、CAOS は Complete Analytics Optimization Suite の略で、Google Analytics を使うことでサイトのスピード評価が落ちないようにするものです。以下英文ですが、WordPress の公式に書いてある説明です。

Whenever you run an analysis of your website on Google Pagespeed Insights, Pingdom or GTMetrix, it’ll tell you to leverage browser cache when you’re using Google Analytics. Because Google has set the cache expiry time to 2 hours. This plugin will get you a higher score on Pagespeed and Pingdom and make your website load faster, because the user’s browser doesn’t have to make a roundtrip to download the file from Google’s external server.
ちなみに、Site Kite は、CAOS がなくても単独で機能します。両方混在で使う場合は、CAOS でスニペットをインサートしますので、Site Kit の方の スニペットのインサートをオフにするのを忘れないようにしましょう。これは、Site Kit の Settings の中の以下の部分です。
